ALCGPSC 009/26 announced that the Coast Guard recognizes sports as an essential component of
health, physical fitness, and mission readiness. To support
active-duty members, the Community Services Command (CSC) MWR
Program provides non-appropriated fund (NAF) assistance to help
offset costs associated with authorized individual sports
competitions through their Sports Participation Grant Program.

1.The Coast Guard recognizes sports as an essential component of
health, physical fitness, and mission readiness. To support
active-duty members, the Community Services Command (CSC) MWR
Program provides non-appropriated fund (NAF) assistance to help
offset costs associated with authorized individual sports
competitions through their Sports Participation Grant Program.
2. For NAF year 2026 (1 February 2026 through 31 January 2027),
grants are limited to individual competition entry fees only.
Team entry fees, memberships, league dues, licenses, training
programs, equipment, and similar expenses are not eligible for
reimbursement. Active-duty members may apply using the link below;
the submission deadline is 1 December 2026. Only grant requests
submitted through the linked application form will be considered.

3. Submission and Approval Process. CSC will consider all requests
for organized live and virtual events. There is no requirement to
prepay registration. Upon interest in an event, simply submit the
sports grant application (link above) to secure funding.
4. Funding. In NAF year 2026, MWR intends to support two grant
requests per person, with a combined maximum limit of $200. Upon
approval, active-duty members will be notified via email with
payment instructions.
5. Payment method. Zelle is required to receive payment. Visit
https://www.zellepay.com/ to verify participating financial
institutions. Include your Zelle account information when
submitting your sports grant application. MWR payments typically
occur later in the year, when funding becomes available.
