The Coast Guard Golf Team will compete in the 2026 Armed Forces Sports
(AFS) Golf Championship at West Point, NY, from 14–19 September. A Service
Qualifier will be held 8–13 September to select six men and four women to
represent the Coast Guard.

1. The Coast Guard Golf Team will compete in the 2026 Armed Forces Sports
(AFS) Golf Championship at West Point, NY, from 14–19 September. A Service
Qualifier will be held 8–13 September to select six men and four women to
represent the Coast Guard.
2. Per reference (A), commands are encouraged to support participation in
Armed Forces Sports. Competing on an Armed Forces team brings credit to our
service members and the United States military while providing valuable
recruiting and retention opportunities.
3. Participation is open to all active-duty members and reservists on
active-duty orders. Members interested in participating must be available
to attend the entire Service Qualifier and Championship to be considered
for team selection.
4. Members wishing to participate must complete the online golf questionnaire
and submit a command-endorsed sports application, along with a resume
highlighting previous Armed Forces golf experience (if applicable),
advanced-level tournament experience governed by USGA rules (e.g., USGA
championships, state or regional golf association championships, collegiate
competition), current handicap with a GHIN number, and any other notable
golf achievements. The golf questionnaire should be completed while awaiting
sports application command endorsement. Links are provided below:

5. Team management will review submitted questionnaires and select members
to compete in the Service Qualifier for an opportunity to represent the Coast
Guard at the Armed Forces Golf Championship. Members must have a favorable
command endorsement by the deadline listed in paragraph 6 to be eligible.
6. To allow sufficient time for player invitations and travel arrangements,
command-endorsed applications must be emailed to the Coast Guard Sports
Office no later than 10 July 2026. Submit applications and any command
concerns to the AFS Service Representative: CWO3 Kelly Johnston,
Kelly.Johnston@uscgmwr.org.
7. The Community Services Command will fund members selected to participate
in the Service Qualifier and those chosen to represent Coast Guard Golf at
the Armed Forces Championship.
